Who is Simba bedding suitable for?
With six fabrics spanning everything from crisp cotton to airy muslin, there's a Simba bedding option for most sleepers:
- Hot sleepers will gravitate towards the Brushed Tencel, Soft Muslin, or Cool Linen
- Those after a classic premium feel will likely prefer the Egyptian Cotton or Cotton Percale
- Style-conscious buyers who want texture and visual interest will love the Waffle Cotton
- Linen enthusiasts who know what they're signing up for will find the Cool Linen a strong choice
The range isn't aimed at those after budget bedding, nor at shoppers who want bold prints or patterns- the palette is deliberately neutral and minimal.
But for those researching a quality upgrade to their sleep set-up, Simba's bedding range is well worth considering.
What is Simba bedding?
Simba's bedding range is designed to complement its mattresses with the same focus on temperature regulation and quality materials.
All of Simba's bedding is manufactured in Portugal by the Costa family, who are well regarded for their textile craftsmanship, and the entire range carries OEKO-TEX® certification [1], meaning the fabrics have been independently tested and are free from harmful substances.
The range covers six distinct fabric types, each sold as individual pieces or as convenient bedding sets and bundles. Sets include a duvet cover and pillowcase pair, while bundles add a fitted sheet.
All fitted sheets are extra-deep, fitting mattresses up to 40 cm,.
This is super handy if you're pairing your bedding with a Simba mattress topper or a thicker hybrid.
Prices start at £89 for an entry-level set but arise to above £300 for a Cool Linen bundle, so there's a range here to suit different budgets, though it sits firmly in the premium tier.
The Simba bedding range materials
Simba mixes things up and offers its premium bedding in six different fabrics and materials.
Cotton Percale
Simba's most accessible fabric, Cotton Percale is the classic hotel-sheet experience.
Percale refers to the weave, a tight, one-over-one-under pattern, which produces a smooth, crisp finish that feels cool to the touch. It's breathable, durable, and particularly well suited to those who prefer a cleaner, crisper feel rather than anything soft or silky.
Best for: Hot sleepers, those who like the feel of fresh hotel linen, or anyone after a low-maintenance everyday set.
Brushed Tencel
Tencel (a branded form of lyocell) is derived from sustainably sourced wood pulp and is prized for its excellent moisture-wicking and cooling properties.
Simba's Brushed Tencel takes things a step further, since the fabric is gently brushed for a velvety, almost fleece-like softness on the surface, while retaining Tencel's natural breathability underneath. It's one of the softest options in the range and a strong pick for those who tend to sleep warm but still want that cocooning feel.
Best for: Hot sleepers who want cloud-like softness without sacrificing temperature regulation.
Egyptian Cotton
Egyptian Cotton is widely regarded as the gold standard of cotton bedding, and Simba's version lives up to that reputation.
The longer fibres used in Egyptian cotton produce a smoother, more lustrous yarn that results in sheets with a noticeably silky drape, quite different from the crispness of percale.
Our verdict: Having tested the Egyptian Cotton range, we can confirm it genuinely feels smooth and luxurious from the first use. There's a slipperiness to it that feels indulgent, more like sleeping in a boutique hotel than a regular home bed. It's the kind of bedding you notice immediately.
Best for: Those who want a premium, silky sleep experience and are willing to pay for it.
Waffle Cotton
Waffle bedding has grown in popularity as an interior trend, and Simba's version is both stylish and practical.
The distinctive waffle weave creates a textured surface with a naturally cosy, tactile feel, warmer than percale but still made from breathable cotton. It's available as a bedding set, duvet cover, pillowcases, and a throw, making it a nice option for layering.
Best for: Those who want to add texture and warmth to their bedroom, particularly in cooler months.
Soft Muslin
Muslin is traditionally associated with baby products, but Simba's Soft Muslin range brings it into the adult bedroom with impressive results.
Made from a loose, open-weave cotton, it's incredibly light and airy, and Simba says it gets softer with every wash. It's the most breathable option in the range and is ideal for warmer nights or anyone who finds most bedding too heavy. Available as a set, duvet cover, pillowcases, throw, and even a robe.
Best for: Warm sleepers, those who run hot in summer, or anyone who finds standard cotton too heavy.
Cool Linen
Linen is one of the oldest and most beloved bedding materials in the world, and Simba's Cool Linen is a modern take on the classic. Rather than pure linen, which can feel quite rough and stiff out of the box, Simba blends linen with Tencel, aiming for a softer, more immediately comfortable result.
Our verdict: Having tested the Cool Linen, it's worth going in with realistic expectations. Even with the Tencel blend, the initial feel is notably textured and quite rough. It's not the kind of bedding that wows you on first touch. That said, linen is a material that genuinely improves over time, and a few washes should start to bring out the softness that linen fans know and love. If you're new to linen bedding, give it time. If you're used to super-smooth cotton or silk-feel fabrics, this may take some adjustment.
Best for: Linen lovers, hot sleepers, and those after effortlessly stylish bedding who are patient enough to let it break in.
Different Simba bedding options
Every Simba bedding range follows the same structure:
- Individual pieces: Duvet cover, fitted sheet, or pillowcase pair, bought separately
- Bedding Set: Duvet cover and pillowcase pair
- Bedding Bundle: Duvet cover, pillowcase pair, and fitted sheet
Duvet covers come with hand-inside corner ties to hold your duvet in place, a small but genuinely useful detail. Fitted sheets are extra deep (up to 40 cm), and all pieces are available in single, double, king, and super king.
Colours vary slightly by range, but across the collection you can choose from Pure White, Soft Oat, Cloud Grey, Sage Green, Midnight Blue, Light Cappuccino, and Dusty Rose.
Overall, it's a considered, neutral palette that works in most bedroom schemes.
How do you wash Simba bedding?
Care requirements vary across the range, so it's worth knowing what you're signing up for before you buy.
- The Cotton Percale is the easiest to live with. Cotton is fairly forgiving, and a warm machine wash (up to 60°C for whites and lights) is generally fine. This makes it a practical choice for households that wash bedding frequently or at higher temperatures.
- The Egyptian Cotton, while luxurious, benefits from a gentler approach. A 40°C wash on a delicate cycle will preserve the lustre and softness of the longer fibres. Avoid tumble drying on high heat. Air drying or a low-heat tumble is the safer option to prevent the fabric from stiffening.
- The Brushed Tencel and Cool Linen both call for a cool, gentle machine wash - 30°C is ideal. For Tencel in particular, skip the fabric softener; the material is naturally soft and softeners can actually clog the fibres and reduce their moisture-wicking performance over time. Both fabrics can be lightly tumble dried on a low setting, though air drying is preferable.
- The Soft Muslin and Waffle Cotton are similarly straightforward - a 40°C wash is typically fine, and both fabrics benefit from being shaken out before drying to help them keep their texture. As Simba notes, the Soft Muslin actually gets softer with every wash, so repeated laundering is a feature rather than a concern.
Across the whole range, avoid bleach, and if you're ironing, use a low to medium heat, especially on the linen and Tencel pieces, which can lose their finish under high temperatures.
UK Simba bedding delivery conditions
Simba offers free next-day delivery on all bedding orders to most UK postcodes, which is a strong selling point.
There's no minimum spend threshold for bedding - simply order before 1pm and you can typically expect delivery the following day.
For those in the Scottish Highlands or other non-mainland UK addresses, a small surcharge applies for accessories (including bedding). A small number of more remote postcodes - including some outer island areas - are outside Simba's delivery network entirely, so it's worth checking at checkout if you're in an area that might be affected.
Returns are straightforward if the bedding doesn't work out, and Simba's customer service is contactable via live chat if there are any issues with your order.
