Who is the DreamCloud mattress most suitable for?
We think the DreamCloud mattress is suitable for most people, and we would definitely recommend it! 👍
However, it’s a particularly good choice for:
- Back and stomach sleepers ✅
- Heavier-weight side sleepers 🏋️♀️
- Cold sleepers 🥶
- Couples 💑
- Restless sleepers 🫶
- Those looking for a fast and efficient delivery 🚚
- Those looking for a premium product ✔️
- Indecisive people - comes with a 365-day guarantee! 🧐
- Those who want a mattress that lasts ♾️
- The eco-conscious 💚
DreamCloud mattress composition
The DreamCloud Hybrid mattress combines pocket springs and memory foam for a balance of comfort and support.
According to DreamCloud, the depth should measure 28 cm (11 inches), although ours came a few centimetres short of this at just under 25 cm (9.8 inches). 📏
We thought this might be due to the mattress needing a little more time to expand.
DreamCloud recommends waiting 5 hours before sleeping on your new mattress, although full expansion can take as long as 48 hours.
However, we measured the mattress again a week later, and it remained under 25 cm deep. 🤔
DreamCloud mattress layers
The DreamCloud mattress is made up of 5 unique layers that work together to provide a luxurious sleeping experience. 🥰
These layers include:
- Luxury quilted cover with cooling technology
- “Dream Plush” memory foam layer
- A supportive middle foam layer
- 15cm premium pocket sprung coils with ActivEdge support
- A supportive foam base layer
DreamCloud Hybrid mattress construction
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress is a bed-in-a-box.
This means it is vacuum-sealed and rolled up into a box for fast and efficient delivery. 🚚💨
Check out our unboxing video to see just how easy it is to unpack! 👇
DreamCloud uses high-quality materials in their mattresses, and all foam is CertiPUR® certified [1], which means it is made to a higher safety standard. ✔️
What does sleeping on the DreamCloud mattress feel like?
So, you’re probably wondering how the DreamCloud mattress stacks up against other bed-in-a-box brands? 🧐
From the get-go, you can feel the DreamCloud memory foam mattress is made with high-quality materials.
Overall, it felt sturdy and supportive with a firmer-feeling comfort that we adapted to after just a few days.
Is the DreamCloud mattress good for side sleepers?
For lighter-weight side sleepers, we feel the DreamCloud mattress might feel slightly too firm. 👎
Lighter-weight side sleepers need a soft to medium mattress that moulds easily around the body.
For those on the lighter side, we felt that the DreamCloud mattress didn’t mould around the body quite as well as some other hybrid options.
For those who weigh under 50 kg (110 lbs), you might consider the Simba Hybrid mattress instead.
However, for those who weigh over 90 kg (198 lbs), the DreamCloud mattress is likely to feel comfortable in the side position. 🥰
The sinking depth tests showed the mattress adapted much more easily to our heavier-weight tester and provided great pressure relief during sleep. 😍
Is the DreamCloud mattress good for back sleepers?
We felt the most comfortable on the DreamCloud mattress in the back sleeping position. 👍
In this position, the DreamCloud mattress supported both our bodies well and encouraged the natural alignment of the spine and neck. 🥰
Our sinking depth tests showed that the mattress adapted around the pelvis and shoulders for both weights just the right amount in the back sleeping position.
Back sleeping is the healthiest position as it puts the least pressure on your spine and distributes weight evenly across the mattress. ⚖️
If you’re not a back sleeper, you might consider changing to this sleeping position. 😮
Is the DreamCloud mattress good for stomach sleepers?
We also felt the DreamCloud mattress was suitable for light to average-weight stomach sleepers. 👌
Stomach sleeping puts the most pressure on your spine.
Therefore, it’s vital [2]to have a firm mattress to keep the spine straight and aligned with the neck.
Our sinking depth tests showed the mattress barely sank at all in this position.
As you can see, the spine remained straight and neutral with the neck and supported the heavier parts of the body. ✔️
Softer mattresses such as the Simba Hybrid create more of a bend in the spine in this position that can lead to waking up with lower back pain.
Yet, we felt no aches and pains in this position on the DreamCloud mattress.
We'll go into more detail about the results of our sinking depth tests further down. 👇
DreamCloud mattress firmness
The DreamCloud mattress firmness is considered a “Luxury Firm” and is rated 6.5/10 by DreamCloud Sleep.
We initially found the mattress very firm, and it took a few days for our bodies to adjust to this feeling, particularly in the side sleeping position.
After a few weeks, the mattress did begin to soften, and we completely adjusted to the DreamCloud.
However, with 1 being the softest and 10 being the firmest, we'd rate it slightly higher on our Sleep Hero firmness scale at a solid 7.5. 🧱
Measuring sinking depths
We understand that everybody comes in all shapes and sizes, so our review needed to accommodate all body types. 👨👩👧👦
We did a few tests of sinking depths to see how the DreamCloud mattress matched up.
Our initial test was to see how much the material sank when standing fully in the middle of the mattress.
As you can see, it measured around 13 cm (5.11 inches), which is about the same amount as the Simba Hybrid.
Our next test analysed how much the DreamCloud mattress sank in different sleeping positions for two body weights. 🧐
We measured the sinking depths of the heaviest parts of the body in each sleep position.
Person A (1.67m/54 kg/ 119 lbs) | Person B (1.79m/ 98 kg/ 216 lbs) | |
Sleeping on the side |
Shoulder: 3 cm (1.18 inches) Pelvis: 3 cm (1.18 inches) |
Shoulder: 5 cm (1.9 inches) Pelvis: 6 cm (2.3 inches) |
Sleeping on the back |
Shoulder: 1.5 cm (0.59 inches) Pelvis: 2 cm (0.78 inches) |
Shoulder: 3.5 cm (1.3 inches) Pelvis: 5 cm (1.9 inches) |
Sleeping on the stomach |
Shoulder: 1.8 cm (0.70 inches) Pelvis: 1 cm (0.39 inches) |
Shoulder: 2 cm (0.78 inches) Pelvis: 2 cm (0.78 inches) |
Our results show there is very little sinkage in all positions, particularly in the stomach sleeping position. 👀
Edge support
We also tested how much the mattress sank at the edge of the DreamCloud mattress. ⚓
Some people like to sit on the edge of the bed in the morning, so it was essential to find out if the DreamCloud mattress has good edge support.
There was some moderate sinking on the edge of the mattress, but it still felt comfortable and supportive to sit on the edge.
Overall, we thought the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress had good edge support. ✔️
The mattress felt comfortable right up to the edge during sleep and didn’t have that “rolling-off” feeling that you get in some mattresses.
Does the DreamCloud mattress sleep cool?
How hot a mattress feels can be a dealbreaker when it comes to buying a new bed. 🤔
And memory foam is well-known for its inability to disperse body heat during the night.
As the DreamCloud memory foam mattress has an additional hybrid structure, this isn’t too much of an issue when compared with full memory foam mattresses such as Nectar or Tempur. 🧽
The pocket springs in the bottom layer of the mattress allow heat to dissipate through the gaps for better ventilation.
High-quality memory foam is also made with an open-cell structure.
This breathable memory foam is much better at dispersing heat than cheap, closed-cell foam. 🌬️
So, how hot did the DreamCloud mattress feel?
Overall, the DreamCloud mattress didn’t get too hot.
We had no issues with sweating or excessive overheating [3] whilst sleeping on the DreamCloud. 😅
However, the mattress felt warmer than some other mattress brands.
When getting into bed at night, the mattress felt cool, but on warmer nights, you could sometimes feel the heat that had been retained in the mattress overnight. 🌡️
If you feel cold at night, you can ensure this mattress will keep you nice and toasty all night long.
Does the DreamCloud have good motion isolation?
Motion isolation refers to how much a mattress absorbs movement.
You might be thinking, but I don’t jump on the bed - why is this important? 🧐
High-transfer mattresses aren’t able to absorb any kind of movement across the mattress.
This includes your partner getting out of bed at night to use the toilet or even your own restless movements at night.
High motion transfer mattresses can feel a bit like you’re on a boat at sea. ⛵
However, low motion transfer mattresses absorb movement.
This means you can rest completely undisturbed, no matter who is jumping up and down on the bed. 🤸♂️
Does the DreamCloud mattress have high or low motion transfer?
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress has very low motion transfer. 🧘
We were extremely impressed with how well the DreamCloud bed absorbed motion.
We found ourselves waking up in the same position we fell asleep with no disturbance at all throughout the night.
Just to show you how well the DreamCloud mattress absorbed motion, we performed some mini-tests.
Check them out in this video! 👇
As you can see, the mattress absorbed every motion and prevented the glass from spilling! 🥛
DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress cover
We love the quilted design of the DreamCloud mattress, which feels soft and high-quality. 🤗
There is clear attention to detail in the overall design of the mattress cover. 😍
We loved the quilted diamond pattern, the beige siding, and the navy blue accents, which suited our headboard perfectly!
We did notice some loose threads and bits of fluff sticking out of the material.
For those perfectionists, this might be a big deal, and we felt it was important to point it out.
However, this wasn’t an issue for us as the mattress will be covered most of the time, and it doesn’t affect its overall performance.
Check out the new DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid cover design below:
Unfortunately, the cover is non-removable
We were disappointed to see that the cover cannot be removed. 🙁
Unlike the Nectar mattress, the cover is a complete part of the entire mattress.
A cover that can be removed and washed is ideal, as this can protect the bed from accidents and increase its overall lifespan. ⏳
As the cover is non-removable, it’s even more vital that you use a mattress protector with the DreamCloud mattress.
The DreamCloud mattress protector is fully waterproof without being noisy, like some other waterproof mattress protectors. ☔
The mattress includes four handles
The mattress came with four handles, which made moving the mattress much more effortless.
You should rotate your DreamCloud mattress every six months or so to ensure it stays in the best condition. ✨

Once you receive your mattress, you can begin unpacking it from the box. 📦
Keep the leaflet that has details of your warranty and the cutter to help you unpack the mattress safely.

Once your mattress is out of its box, it will look a bit like a burrito wrapped up in plastic. 🌯
Use the provided cutter to remove the plastic wrapping carefully.
3. Remove the second layer of plastic
As soon as you remove the outer plastic, the mattress will start unravelling and expanding. 🎈
It kind of has a life of its own, so be careful to stay well clear!
You can then remove the second layer of plastic.
4. Wait 5 hours...
You should wait at least 5 hours before dressing or sleeping on the DreamCloud mattress, so we recommend unpacking it in the morning or afternoon.
The mattress will then continue to expand over the next 24-48 hours. ⏲️
5. Sleep!
After 5 hours, your DreamCloud mattress will be ready to use. 😅
We recommend using the DreamCloud mattress protector, DreamCloud bedding, and DreamCloud pillows for the full luxury DreamCloud experience.
DreamCloud's 365-day sleep trial

This means you have 365 days to try the mattress in any position and under any conditions you like.
After all, how can you tell if a mattress is right for you if you can’t try it out fully?
Emma only offers 200 nights, and Silentnight gives you just 60 nights.
But, with DreamCloud, you get an entire year to decide if you love this mattress. 🥰

Then, simply contact the DreamCloud customer service team.

The DreamCloud "forever warranty"
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress also comes with a lifetime warranty. 😱
This guarantees that the mattress will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for as long as you own and use the mattress.
The coils used in the mattress are the most durable in the industry, and they’re guaranteed not to break during your lifetime. 🛠️
However, we would generally encourage you to replace your mattress every 8-10 years depending on the condition.
Is the warranty really forever?
There are some conditions to this warranty. 🧐
For the first ten years, you will have complete protection and given the mattress has a fault, it will be replaced free of charge.
After 10 years, the mattress will be repaired, recovered or replaced depending on the level of damage.
This will be at the company’s discretion and for them to decide the best way to proceed.
That being said, the warranty is genuinely forever, and if a fault is found within your lifetime, you won’t be required to pay any additional charges. 😍
Check the DreamCloud website for full terms and conditions.

DreamCloud mattress reviews
As well as testing the DreamCloud pocket sprung mattress for ourselves, we also looked at what others were saying about this mattress.
DreamCloud customer reviews
We looked at reviews on the DreamCloud mattress to get a clearer idea of the user experience.
Overall, the reviews were very positive, with customers finding the DreamCloud mattress comfortable and supportive.
Some customers who had previously suffered from back pain state that they now sleep soundly and pain-free.
In terms of customer service, there was a mixed bag of results.
Some customers found customer service very efficient and supportive, while others felt room for improvement.
However, many that didn't get on with the mattress also found that the customer service was great and the returns process easy.
Trustpilot score
DreamCloud has a 4.4 score on Trustpilot, which we thought was pretty good.
This is comparable to more popular sleep brands such as Emma Sleep and Simba.
DreamCloud has an 80% excellent feedback store with just a 6% bad score.
DreamCloud mattress complaints
We also looked at some of the negative reviews to see what potential problems you may have.
Some customer's found that the mattress dipped or had indentations after a few weeks.
We've had no experience with this ourselves after having the mattress for a year, but we understand that this may be the case for some.
However, your lifetime guarantee will include manufacturing faults such as dipping, so you can be assured that you'll not be stuck with a faulty mattress.
Nonetheless, we would advise those of heavier weights to avoid memory foam mattresses altogether and instead opt for a more stable pocket-sprung mattress structure.
Are DreamCloud mattresses good?
After testing the DreamCloud mattress for several weeks, we can confidently recommend it as a fantastic premium choice mattress. ✔️
It’s a great option for back and stomach sleepers looking for a firmer feeling mattress without all the fuss.
The DreamCloud mattress is a bit expensive, so make the most of any good discounts or offers.
It may not be for everyone, but it's definitely one of the best mattresses we've tried.
