What makes the Derila Ergo Pillow special?
The Derila Ergo Pillow features a uniquely shaped butterfly design with side support wings and a central dip.
The goal: improved neck support, better spinal alignment, and ideally less snoring.
Does it deliver?
We’ll get to that in a moment.
In our view, the Derila Ergo Pillow is suitable for:
- Side sleepers
- Back sleepers
- People who like pillows with an “interesting” shape
- Hot sleepers or those who sweat a lot at night
- People looking for extra support while sleeping
Derila Ergo Kissen Aufbau
The core of the Derila Ergo Pillow is made from viscoelastic memory foam [1], designed to respond to body heat and pressure.
In theory, this allows for gentle sinking and even pressure distribution.
The idea is that the pillow adapts precisely to the shape of your head.
In practice, however, the effect was rather mild – the foam springs back fairly quickly.
What we found more interesting was the design:
The pillow features a distinct butterfly shape with stabilising side wings.
The surface comes in two colours:
- Light blue on top – slightly cooler to the touch
- Dark blue on the bottom – more neutral in feel
In the centre, there’s a round hollow for the back of your head to rest in.
A small button keeps the cover in place at this spot – depending on your sleeping position [2], this can be either helpful or a bit annoying.
In short: if you enjoy ergonomically shaped pillows, the Derila Ergo might appeal to you.
If you prefer flatter, more flexible options – probably not.
Cover and washability
The cover is soft, feels high-quality, and can easily be removed thanks to the zipper.
Best of all: it’s machine washable at 30 °C – making it fully suitable for everyday use.
What we didn’t love: due to the pillow’s unique shape, finding replacement covers can be tricky.
Standard-size pillowcases rarely fit properly – which is a bit of a shame.
Sleep comfort with the Derila Ergo Pillow
During our test, several people tried sleeping on the Derila Ergo Pillow.
One of our testers, with a slimmer build, found it comfortable – but not ideal.
Another tester, with broader shoulders, was genuinely impressed and found it very supportive – especially while sleeping on their back.
If you tend to prefer flatter or height-adjustable pillows like the Forever Pillow or the Emma Pillow, this firmer construction might not be for you.
It’s always important that a pillow fills the gap between your neck and the mattress – how well that works depends heavily on your body type.
Now let’s take a closer look at how the Derila Ergo performs in different sleeping positions:
Derila Ergo Pillow for side sleeping
At around 13 cm in height, the Derila Ergo Pillow is relatively thick – which makes it a good fit for many side sleepers.
If you sleep on a firm mattress and have broad shoulders, this could be a good match.
However, if you have a softer mattress or a slimmer frame, the pillow may feel slightly too tall.
Derila Ergo Pillow for back sleeping
The central hollow is a nice touch for back sleepers – it cradles your head securely and slightly lower than the edges.
But if you tend to change positions throughout the night, this fixed shape might become distracting.
Typical “combo sleepers” usually need more flexible pillow solutions.
Derila Ergo Pillow for stomach sleeping
To be honest? Stomach sleeping is a disaster for your neck – no matter what pillow you use.
And with the Derila Ergo Pillow being on the taller side, it’s almost an invitation for neck strain.
If you absolutely insist on sleeping on your stomach: go with a very flat pillow – or better yet, no pillow at all.
Size and Price of the Derila Ergo pillow
The pillow measures 54 x 36 cm – making it slightly larger than a typical travel pillow, but still compact enough for packing.
That said, we find the standard Derila Pillow a better fit for travel purposes.
With a height of 13 cm, it ranks among the taller pillows on the market.
Thanks to the firm foam and compact size, it also works well as a travel companion – whether for hotels or campervan trips.
Derila Ergo Pillow price
The official website lists the Derila Ergo Pillow with an original price of around £50.
Derila pillow gets cheaper when you buy bundles with multiple pillows.

Delivery, returns and trial period for the Derila Ergo Pillow
Delivery was quick – and surprisingly well handled:
WhatsApp updates, email confirmations, DHL tracking.
Thumbs up from us! 👍
The pillow arrived vacuum-packed, in a compact box – although wrapped in quite a bit of plastic.
Not the most eco-friendly option, but it does save on space during shipping.
There was a slight odour when unboxing – but it faded after a few hours.
That’s completely normal for foam-based products.
Derila Ergo Pillow shipping costs
At £8.95, the shipping fee felt quite steep – especially compared to brands like Lilia, Emma or mySheepi, which often offer free delivery.
Derila Ergo Pillow trial period
The brand promotes a “30-day satisfaction guarantee” – but there’s a catch:
You can only get a full refund if you return the pillow unused and unopened within 14 days.
What this means:
- Full refund only if returned unopened within 14 days
- From day 15 onwards, you’ll only get the product price back – shipping costs are non-refundable
- You’ll also have to pay return shipping and send the item back in its original packaging
According to several Derila Ergo Pillow reviews consumer reports, some users have had issues with the return process.
We didn’t test the return ourselves – so we can’t speak from personal experience.
Final verdict on the Derila Ergo Pillow
The Derila Ergo Pillow scores points for its innovative, supportive design and pleasant materials.
However, it’s not adjustable – and for many sleep types, it will take some getting used to.
If you’re after a compact, firm pillow, it might be worth a try.
Everyone else? You’ll likely be happier with a height-adjustable alternative.
